A comic number from Cahn and Styne’s 1947 Broadway hit High Button Shoes, one of the duo’s few stage successes. The show ran for 727 performances and starred Phil Silvers and Nanette Fabray, with choreography by Jerome Robbins.

Like much of the High Button Shoes score, the song showcases Cahn’s flair for humor and wordplay — a side of his writing that his more romantic work sometimes overshadows.
