Boys' Night Out

Title song for the 1962 MGM romantic comedy starring Kim Novak, James Garner, and Tony Randall. Patti Page not only sang the theme but appeared in the film itself, playing a role in the ensemble cast. Her single reached #49 on the Billboard Hot 100.

Sinatra recorded it the same year with Billy May and his orchestra but the version sat unreleased until his 1995 box set The Complete Reprise Studio Recordings — a typical casualty of the era’s prolific studio sessions. Les Baxter’s orchestral take, unusually recorded the year before the film, appears on his Tender Is the Night album.
